Fireside at the Greenway Free Music Series 2022

October 6, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm EDT

Fireside at the Greenway

Fireside is a free, outdoor concert series on Thursdays in October.  Concerts occur 7 – 9 PM every Thursday in October at Greenway Farm Park.  All ages are invited to enjoy an evening in a rustic setting to listen to live local music gathered around a couple of small campfires behind the reconstructed 1850’s Sniteman Cabin which is located at the back of the park behind the gardens.

It is a simple concept of getting families to come out to a local park, unplug from technology, and listen to live music gathered around a fire!

The concerts are graciously sponsored by Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union in partnership with Outdoor Chattanooga.

Bring your blankets and chairs, marshmallow roasting sticks and dancing shoes! The Greenway Farm Park is more rustic, without food vendors and the stage is located on the porch of the Sniteman Log Cabin behind the gardens.

*** If there is inclement weather and the concerts cannot be held outdoors, the show will move to the conference center at the park

Thursday, October 6  ~  The VonWamps

Lou, Lynn, and Daniel Wamp anchor a musical venture that crosses genres and generations, performing an eclectic and high-spirited mix of their own compositions as well as a constantly evolving setlist from folk, swing, and jazz, to country, rock, and bluegrass, all to which they add their own familial flair. They will always surprise and delight, musically.

Thursday, October 13 ~ Randy Steele

Randy Steele offers a musical journey and masterful storytelling through his original banjo music, melding the best elements of Bluegrass and Country music. He can be heard here and across the oceans as long-time frontman with Slim Pickins or with his concurrent career as an emerging solo artist.

Thursday, October 20 ~The NEW Quintet

Host of the popular roots music history podcast American Songcatcher, Nicholas Edward Williams is a multi-instrumentalist and storyteller who is dedicated to “playing it forward” by preserving the songs and styles that have shaped our country: Ragtime, Piedmont blues, Traditional Folk and Old Time.  Joining him as The NEW Quintet are Emma Dubose (Fiddle, Harmony), Jade Watts (Upright Bass, Harmony), Gordon Inman (Clarinet, Harmony) and Cody Ray (Guitar, Slide, Harmony). Together, this group adds a wall of sound with big harmonies and lush textures that deepen the broad range of traditional and original material put out by Williams, as heard on his critically acclaimed sophomore release from late 2021, Folk Songs For Old Times’ Sake. https://linktr.ee/NicholasEdwardWilliams

Thursday, October 27~ Stringer’s Ridge Band

Stringer’s Ridge is a string band that crosses musical and geographic boundaries, playing mostly instrumental tunes, with diverse and eclectic influences and a strong focus on Celtic, Old-Time, and String Band music—that could veer off into other eclectic/world/fiddle genres at a moment’s notice.
