Josiah Golson presents Opening Act

September 30, 2021 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm EDT

There’s no concert like the one in your own room. You build the stage, you choose the sounds, and you tell the stories…
Opening Act is an art installation that invites Chattanoogans into a shared space and evening of music, art, and storytelling. Created through a collaboration between artists Josiah Golson and Sanchana Krishnan, Opening Act will transform Cooper’s Alley into the bedroom of a music-loving teenager, as visitors will have the chance to listen to sounds, feel the nostalgia, and decorate the space through activities created by the artists. The designs and stories created by the community during the evening will become the prologue of a future project on music, identity, and belonging that Golson will share with the public in 2022.
