Historical Walk on Sherman’s Ridge

Join Outdoor Chattanooga for an exciting adventure to Missionary Ridge. Our expert guides will provide transportation to the trailhead at the base of the ridge. Accompanied by a local historian, we’ll explore the 50-acre reservation, the park’s largest, and hear captivating narratives from the past.

Although rated as easy, the hike leads us off the beaten path through nature’s raw beauty. We’ll climb the very hills once traversed by General Sherman, following a wood-lined walkway into the heart of the forest. The short but steep ascent, taking just five minutes, reflects the challenges faced by historical soldiers. Get ready for an unforgettable experience as we blend history and nature, creating cherished memories along the way. Lace up your walking shoes and embark on this remarkable journey!
